Some nasty bugs take this from "great" to "infuriating."
In a lot of ways, I love Screenium. The recording works well, the animation support works well... but the bugs just make it all a broken experience.
The problems Ive hit arent fundamental flaws. They can be fixed, and I *really* hope they will be soon. Here are the issues Ive repeatedly hit:
* The crashes. Oh man the crashes. Ive gotten to the point where I hit save after every little thing. Ive had crashes from changing properties on objects, rearranging elements, and.. I dont know, its hard to pin-point.
* Every time I load my composition again, I have to re-enable the mouse cursor on all my videos, of which there are many. There appears to be no way to batch-set this.
* My animations sometimes flat-out disappear, or cease to work. This seems to happen from time to time when batch-moving several elements.
* Sometimes my text just disappears. I have to delete all my animations and set it up again from scratch.
* There seems to be no way to recombine video clips. If I cut out a section of a video, Im now stuck with two videos to manage.
* I cant create a new text visual style from scratch. I have to use a built-in one, edit it, and then save it under a new name.
* If several text blocks use the same shared visual style, Id expect changes to that style to affect all text blocks. That doesnt appear to happen.
* Sometimes video clips smaller than the total video dimensions end up with the wrong size. I split a video, went back to it later, and the two parts arent sized the same. Who knows why.
* Seems theres no way to adjust the width/height the same way one can adjust the X/Y of a clip or text. This seems like a significant oversight.
These are pretty major annoyances, but if those were fixed, Id easily bump this up to 5 stars. I like a lot of what this offers. Just wish I could use it reliably.
