Lots of bugs add up, Youtube quality awful
I’ve encountered several really irritating bugs with Screenium and their support/documentation is pretty poor.
I’m recording instructional videos for a client and I stop between each segment. Well if you want to join these segments together in one video you cant just stop/start recording in the same “composition”, you have to cut and paste and then move the entire segment into position. This becomes a complete pain once you have several you’re working with.
So the above I guess could be a design decision (however frustrating and stupid it seems to be be) but this is definitely a bug, often I will select the option to have one segment of video transition with the previous segment. However the software decides that I actually meant to just swap the two video segments on the timeline. Usually manually moving them back and then selecting the transition option will correct this.
Another bug - if you have a saved composition, when you re-open it you need to re-enable the mouse cursor on every video segment. It will then turn that option back off (regardless of the fact that you saved with the option turned on) if you close and re-open the program
Finally, the worst thing is Youtube quality. Regardless of how you export the video it ends up being awful quality on Youtube. Basically I wasted 50 dollars on this software and will have to go out looking for something else now.
